Description
Fandango 200 EC is a fungicide based on the active substances fluoxastrobin and prothioconazole.
It is applied against powdery mildew and marc on the onion.
The active substance fluoxastrobin is a synthetic derivative of natural strobilurins. It exhibits mainly preventive but also therapeutic action, while it also has a partial interphasized effect. At the biochemical level it acts by blocking mitochondrial respiration of fungi at the Qo site of complex III of cytochrome bc 1 (Group Qols, subgroup oximinoacetates).
Prothioconazole is a systemic fungicide of the group of DMIs, (subgroup triazolinthiones), with preventive, therapeutic and exterminating action on a wide range of fungi (Vasidomycetes, Ascomycetes, Deuteromycetes). At the biochemical level it acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol at the site of C-14 demethylation Inhibitors (DMIs). Prothioconazole provides protection before and after infection of the plant by the pathogen. It is quickly absorbed by the tissues of the plant and moves to the plant through the vessels of wood to the young growing organs.
